Soft washing and pressure washing are not interchangeable. Soft washing relies on appropriate cleaning solutions, controlled application, and low pressure to treat organic growth and exterior staining. Higher pressure is better suited to certain durable surfaces when used correctly, but it can damage siding, seals, screens, wood, roofing, paint, and mortar.

A professional should identify the surface, staining, drainage, nearby plants, electrical fixtures, and manufacturer limitations before choosing a method. More pressure does not automatically produce a better or safer result.
