About Us

Founded in 1999, Xpress Lawn Solutions LLC brings decades of property-care experience to homes, businesses, HOAs, and managed properties. Today, we serve the Metro East as Xpress Grounds & Exteriors. Our work goes beyond the lawn. We design and build paver patios and outdoor living spaces, improve landscapes and drainage, install outdoor and Christmas lighting, and clean exterior surfaces. We also provide recurring lawn, landscape, and commercial grounds care. Every property has different priorities. We review the site, listen to what you want to accomplish, and define the scope in a written estimate. Our goal is clear communication, careful work, and an outdoor space that functions well for you.

Professional Training & Qualifications

Owner James Planitz invests in continuing education in construction safety, outdoor lighting, and hardscape installation and planning. Completed training includes:

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training — 360training; completed February 9, 2026.
• Landscape Lighting — Hardscaper, presented by Techo-Bloc; one-hour course and certificate of attendance, completed December 29, 2025.
• Interlocking Concrete Pavement — Hardscaper course covering proper installation and care; certificate of attendance.
• Budgeting, Estimating & Job Costing — Hardscaper continuing education; certificate of attendance.
• Hardscape Design & Construction Coursework — Hardscape Mentor: Design & Build, My First Patio, Bricks Blocks Stones Rocks, and Distinctive Inlays; completed December 2025.
• General Standards Pesticide Safety Training — Illinois Extension, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; course completed March 29, 2026.
